In our free time, my wife and I both enjoy training for athletic events, especially duathlons and running races. We recently competed in the San Diego Rock N Roll Half Marathon. This October, St. Louis will host a Rock N Roll Marathon and the specified charity for this event is TASK (Team Activities for Special Kids). TASK is a great organization that allows differently-abled children to participate in a wide variety of sports. My nephew who has Cerebral Palsy has enjoyed kickball and camp activities with them this year. If you are interested in training to run or walk the half marathon, I have rounded up some links to sites with half marathon training schedules below. The St. Louis Rock N Roll Half Marathon venue is particularly good for walkers as the time limit of four hours is longer than many half marathons allow. All of the below plans recommend having at least 2 – 6 months of regular workouts before beginning so get started now if you haven’t been working out regularly.
