I had a patient tell me yesterday that her kids’ tooth fairy leaves a gold dollar for every tooth. That’s what her kids seem to want. It got me wondering, is a gold dollar worth one dollar or is that gold actually worth much more? How much money does your tooth fairy leave? How many times has the tooth fairy at your house forgotten to leave money before going to bed only to realize in the middle of the night that she needed to visit your child’s room? Do you remember how much you received when you lost a tooth as a child? It would be interesting to see a study on inflationary rates for the tooth fairy in the past few decades.
