How do you help patients with dental fear?

We know that visiting the dentist creates extreme anxiety in many patients. We took great care in designing our WingHaven office to decrease the anxiety that patients feel in a typical medical office setting. Our entire staff is trained to make each experience as comfortable and pain free as possible. During long procedures, our patients can watch movies on specialized movie goggles. For patients require an additional calming measure, our office is equipped with nitrous oxide.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept most types of dental insurance, except for HMO and Medicaid plans. To make it easier for you as our patient, we will submit claims for you and help you to understand and maximize your insurance benefits.

What payment options do you provide?

We provide a discount to patients who pay in cash at the time of service and a discount for our senior citizens. We accept personal check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Our office offers extended payment plans through Care Credit. If you do not have dental insurance, we also offer an in house discount dental plan. Please see our Financing & Insurance page for more information.

Is there a simple solution for sensitive teeth?

Many people experience generalized sensitivity in their teeth from anything cold. Sometimes even drawing in air can make susceptible teeth sensitive. Sensitive teeth often prevent people from eating and drinking things they enjoy, like ice cream and cold beverages. You may be happy to know that in many cases there is a simple, quick and pain-free solution to this problem. Often this annoying sensitivity is caused by very small erosions in teeth at the gumline, which result from aggressive tooth brushing or clenching and grinding the teeth. Tooth-colored fillings with no drill and no shot can be placed over the erosions to immediately eliminate this chronic sensitivity. Youll be surprised at how easy and effective this procedure can be. Please call our WingHaven office for an evaluation, or ask about this solution at your next visit.

How often should I have a dental exam or cleaning?

You should have your teeth cleaned and examined at least two times a year, but your needs may be greater depending on the current health of your teeth and gums. During a routine checkup, your teeth are examined for the presence of decay which can be treated much more easily if it is detected early. The x-rays and dental exam are performed to detect decay as well as the presence of gum disease, bone loss, oral cancer, cysts and other oral disease. Professional cleanings with specialized dental equipment can remove plaque and tartar that may not be removed by daily brushing and flossing at home. During professional dental cleanings teeth are polished to remove stains that do not respond to regular brushing.

Do you treat children?

We enjoy treating patients of all ages and getting to know a patient’s entire family. Dr. Ed Logan & Associates use several preventative techniques including fluoride and sealants. We have a No Cavity Club designed to reward our younger patients who maintain regular appointments and good dental hygiene.
